DON'T SAY THINGS YOU DON'T MEAN Don't promise me you love me
then go and leave me blue.
Don't say I mean the world to you
unless I really do. Don't flower up the things you say
to make my life a dream.
Unless you really love me,
Don't say things you don't mean. Don't let me feel your loving arms
and then push me away.
Don't talk about forever,
Unless you plan to stay. Don't tell me that you'll be my king
or that I'll be your queen.
Unless you really love me,
Don't say things you don't mean.
This poem was written by a very naive young lady in her days of college over 30 years ago. She is now very happily married to her "soul-mate". |
